The Admiral Returns!

Maureen flew black to re-join Kalunamoo here in Grenada. After a month on "medical leave" she is feeling better. The severe pain in her knee that kept her from walking any distance at all is gone. Cortisone injections reduced the inflammation that caused the pain but the underlining problem of a "bad back" remains. In addition, the anticipated hip replacement surgery remains to be accomplished this summer. I'm glad she is back on board not the least of which is because of my limited cooking skills. Maureen will be very careful in what she can lift with her back and hip condition, no more heavy lifting! The issue of the growth on her shoulder was also resolved and so life on a boat resumes, albeit gingerly.

Melanie and Dave flew back from here and put together a fun video of their "Adventure". The other times they came to visit, Kalunamoo were spent mostly in one place. This time their trip encompassed 6 countries in as many days in cars, planes, taxis and a sailboat. I had a great time moving the boat to Grenada with them and spending some quality time.

Now that Maureen is back on board, we will take advantage of the great beaches and swimming here in Grenada. We will have to fly back to New York for a wedding and our grandson's college graduation before sailing Kalunamoo to Trinidad for the summer. All in all, it has been a hectic first part of the year, but we enjoyed spending time with the many cruiser friends we meet and the good times we had. In any case, it is hard not to have a good time in the warm Caribbean!
